Water Polo
Four junior members of Drogheda Water Polo Club are celebrating this week after being selected for the Under 14 Ireland Training Squad.
Following trials in the University of Limerick with Swim Ireland National Coaches, Susie Jackson, Emma Murnaghan, Aoife Rose Hogan and Zaira Brady are four of the 20 players selected from water polo clubs across Ireland.
They join club members Niamh Murnaghan and Zéile Monaghan who are members of the 2011/2012 national training squad. They will now begin training with the Ireland squad in the National Aquatic Centre.
The players currently compete with Drogheda Water Polo Club’s Under 14 and Under 16 teams. Led by head coach David Murnaghan, they kick off the 2026/2027 Season on September 19 with an Under 16 game facing Tribes Water Polo Club from Galway.
Drogheda Water Polo Club are currently recruiting for both the senior women’s team and their junior boys and girls teams. Contact the club to go along to a free open session.
