MANCHESTER UNITED have renewed interest in Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, according to reports.
United, who are long-term admirers of the Englishman, have made contact with Branthwaite‘s representatives, according to the Daily Mail.
United had two offers of up to £50million rejected by Everton back in 2024, with the Merseyside club demanding a Harry Maguire-esque fee for the defender.
English centre-back Maguire joined United from Leicester in the summer of 2019 for a huge £80m.
United, who were managed by Erik ten Hag at the time, opted for the then-manager’s fellow countryman Matthijs de Ligt instead.
But with de Ligt ruled out for nearly a year following back surgery and Maguire, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez’s contracts all running out next summer, United seem to be back in for Branthwaite.

It’s reported that United could opt to send a player the other way in order to lower a potential transfer fee.
However, the severe lack of successful swap deals in the modern game makes this seem like a risky and unrealistic approach.
Everton are in a position to call the shots after selling Iliman Ndiaye for a fee in excess of £80m this summer.
With United knocking, the Toffees could well demand an astronomical fee and it wouldn’t be the first time the Red Devils have complied.
