Celebrity stylist Chris Appleton could bring some Hollywood glam to the Strictly audience – as his pal Kim Kardashian is said to be desperate for a front-row seat.

I’m told the reality star, who is one of Chris’s closest friends and clients, hopes to pop along to Elstree Studios in Herts to see him on the dancefloor.

A source said of the reality star and Skims shapewear boss: “Kim is so proud of Chris and she’s in touch with him a lot.

“She opened her UK flagship shop in London at the end of July and is trying to coincide a visit to the store with watching Chris in action at Elstree.

“Getting Kim into place would be like a military operation, but they can make it happen if her diary lines up.”

Leicester-born Chris, whose clients also include megastars Jennifer Lopez and Ariana Grande, opened up about his friendship with Kim yesterday, revealing: “She sent me a beautiful bunch of flowers and said to break a leg. She has been completely supportive and has said, ‘I am so proud of you’. It’s nice to know I have that support.

“A lot of people think I am American. I’m originally from Leicester, I’m a British guy. This is like my homecoming.”

Kim is clearly excited about Chris taking part in the BBC One dance contest, which starts on Saturday.

Commenting on an Instagram snap of her pal in his sequins last week, she wrote: “OMG OMG You’re gonna kill it!!!”

Hopefully, he fares better than Kim did in 2008 on Strictly’s American counterpart, Dancing With The Stars, when she was partnered with Shirley Ballas’s son Mark and was third to be eliminated.

I’ve been lucky enough to watch Strictly being filmed, so I can confirm it’s highly unlikely Kim would stick around for the entire taping as it takes hours.

But if she does make it along, she’ll be in good company.

Ray Winstone is expected to cheer on his daughter Jaime, while Danny Dyer will likely be supporting his girl Dani.

Lily James dresses to kill for the premiere of her latest movie – crime thriller Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.

The Brit star stepped out for a screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she was later seen partying with the film’s director, Takashi Miike, and Orlando Bloom.

The latter was at the festival for the premiere of his own upcoming movie, Bucking Fastard.

Speaking there, Orlando confirmed he is still in contact with Pirates co-star Johnny Depp and has no idea why the heavily rumoured next instalment of the franchise keeps being delayed.

He said: “I do connect with [Depp] every now and again, because he’s amazing. I don’t know [why it’s been delayed].”

“Nostalgia is such a big thing in the world today. So we keep harking back to these things, because of the nostalgia and what the feeling you had watching whatever your favourite thing was.

“There’s that kind of thing that we’re seeing in movies as well. So we’ll see.”

Noel Gallagher’s pal Matt Morgan has revealed the Oasis rocker’s brother Liam was a regular no-show at rehearsals.

Opening up on his self- titled Patreon podcast, Matt said: “I talked to Noel throughout the process and he was like, ‘Oh, f***ing hell, Liam hasn’t turned up to rehearsals. I’m so sick of rehearsals’.”

In fairness to Liam, he’s not exactly in need of much practice. Now Oasis are heading back out on the road next year, at least Noel knows what to expect.

Shake it Shakira

Shakira was beaming from ear to ear as she landed in Spain to a carnival atmosphere ahead of her concert residency.

The Colombian singer – who previously lived in Barcelona with her ex-partner, footie ace Gerard Pique, but has since relocated to Miami – will perform to over 500,000 fans during her run of 12 shows at a purpose-built stadium in Madrid.

Ahead of her first gig on Friday, she enjoyed an impromptu dance with fans to a traditional Colombian band at Madrid Airport. She told them: “Here [in Spain] I have been happy. I spent the most important years of my life and also hard times.

“To return in this way, surrounding myself with love and support, is to offer them the best of me and our culture.”

In yesterday’s Times newspaper, Coldplay fans got a rather exciting surprise when they spotted an engagement announcement.

It read: “Christopher A. J. Martin and Lady Marketa H. Windsor. The engagement is announced between Chris Martin and Marketa Windsor.”

And it’s not hard to see why they started getting whipped into a frenzy, as Coldplay frontman Chris’s full name is Christopher Anthony John Martin. But after making a quick call to Chris’s publicist, I can now confirm none of us needs to buy a hat as this is definitely not the star singer.

Labrinth back in fashion

Labrinth has secretly signed up as the star performer at H&M’s huge show as part of London Fashion Week on Thursday.

My catwalk mole has revealed the Earthquake singer, who soundtracked the first two series of Euphoria, has been booked for a massive set at the show at Olympia in West London.

I’m also told actor Archie Renaux is teaming up with American model and actress Alex Consani for a special duet.

Archie found fame in the BBC One mini-series Gold Digger in 2019 before being snapped up by Netflix for its fantasy series Shadow And Bone, while Alex became the world’s youngest trans-gender model at age 12.

I’m sure all three will put on a show to remember.

Tom snooze

Tom Cruise has given his first major interview in more than a decade – and he outed himself as a grumpy, work- obsessed middle-aged man.

He appears on the cover of the October issue of GQ Magazine and frankly Zach Baron, the editor who interviewed him, deserves a medal.

“You turned 64 last week, does that mean anything to you?” Zach asks, clearly searching for an answer that doesn’t include the Mission: Impossible actor bleating about work.

“It means I’m 64,” Tom replied. Enlightening.

Tom is later asked about what he gets up to on a random day when he’s not working on a film set.

Tom replied: “I’m preparing for the next. I’m always studying something. I’m always learning something.

“Movies don’t just start when you’re shooting it and on a movie set. There’s sometimes years of preparation.”

He added: “I work hard, and people that work with me, they know. I expect a lot and I’m upfront about it.

“Even when I was a kid, they were like, ‘Oh, come on, Tom. You’re so intense.’

“I’m like, ‘I don’t know what to say. I am intense.’

“I’ve got a very good sense of humour about it…”

Has he? You couldn’t tell.
