HARRY and Meghan are using the latest school-run fiasco to pile pressure on the royal committee to pay for their security, experts say.

Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, have been plucked out of their new school and moved to another just days into the new term amid commuting concerns.

Concerns were reportedly raised when their convoy was broken up and cars were left like “sitting ducks” during the school run.

But confused parents at the school joked that it “doesn’t take an expert” to know the commute would be busy.

The kids being withdrawn from school coincided last night with The Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) confirming a review of Harry’s security.

Royal author Robert Jobson told Sun Studio: “It’s really sad that the kids are becoming the narrative here.

“It’s been dressed up that this is a major security incident. I think it’s more to do with an alarm clock and and them not getting up in time.”

Royal expert Angela Levin agreed, adding: “It’s a way to get Ravec to pay an awful lot of money from us, from people who have earned their money, get their tax. Why should we do that?

“Archie and Lilibet had to be strong and brave to go into a class they didn’t know, not knowing either if the other children would be kind. The teaching would be different to America which would also be tricky.

“Plus having their title Princess and Prince and worrying if other pupils would make fun of them. Even worse, they were taken out of their home and class in California without anyone saying goodbye.

“And Is there really a problem with a lot of traffic in the Cotswolds? Or was it drama day to pressure the government into providing 24/7 security paid by the public while they do nothing in return?

“It seems very odd that nobody foresaw the problem before term started. Or perhaps they did.”

Robert added: “Now make up your mind. Make up your mind. You know we’re not stupid in the media. We’re being played here.

“There’s certainly no denying that just two weeks in, there’s been plenty of drama surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan almost daily.”

It comes as Ravec wrote to the Duke of Sussex and informed him that his situation was discussed at a meeting last week.

It’s since been announced that Meghan’s security will also be reviewed at the same time, marking the first official review into her security since the couple left the monarchy in 2020.

Ravec has agreed to give the Sussexes a full review of their security now that they are residents in the UK and their children have both started at British schools.

The Sun earlier this month revealed that the Duchess of Sussex was nervous about doing the school run.

And just days into the new term, the two young royals have now been moved to a new school, with their parents blaming traffic for the change.

Traffic in the area reportedly made it difficult for Harry and Meghan to get Archie and Lilibet to the school with their vehicles in convoy – which raised further concerns.

Bodyguards had reportedly checked the school over the holidays prior to the children’s arrival.

But security teams did not properly check the school run before the first day of term, it is understood.

Robert continued: “The reality is they want full time security, they want armed security.

“Harry has spent millions of pounds fighting in the High Court to try and take on the government, to say he is the second son of the King and the King’s grandkids need security.

“He said it was unsafe to come to Britain. He turned up in Britain and now all of a sudden there’s a security incident.

“The Sussexes, Harry and Meghan, are the ones that have brought their children into the narrative. What is this security incident? There’s not a security incident it turns out.

“It means that the school run is taking too long. That is the bottom line. They are private citizens, even though they want to be public in public figures.

“If they didn’t know this…school runs in September are pretty awful for a lot of parents. They have to get up early. You gotta tell the kids they’re going to be up a lot earlier than they would have been in the summer.

“And it was all very different to the wonderful puddle walks around the Cotswolds.”

On Sunday, Meghan offered the first glimpse of her new life in the UK, with a video montage posted on social media painting an idyllic picture of the English countryside – footage included a roaring fire, muddy puddles, raincoats and wellies.

Angela added: “They’re invading their own privacy all the time. They did it when they were playing about with boats.

“They want to be big stars now they’ve come back and they are absolutely terrible to shout and pretend that it’s all about them.

“You can’t have everyday from them coming up with some nonsense. They should just be quiet and get on with it.”

Robert agreed: “I think Angela is spot on, we had the heart and the union flag emoji on that quite ridiculous post.

“If you’re talking about privacy, what on earth are you doing posting to a million people?

“All of this is about grandstanding. You don’t hear any of this from William and Catherine. And all we’ve had in the three weeks they’ve been back is the narrative is totally dominated by Harry and Meghan.

“Everything else in the royal landscape is gone. It’s all about them. And that is a problem for the King.”

The Duke has fought for years for the right to taxpayer-funded police protection in the UK, arguing that the risk to him has not fallen since he quit official duties.

In August, Harry contacted Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood pleading for answers upon their return to the UK, but at this stage the couple’s only official British police protection is the phone number of a police liaison officer.

Despite the Ravec review, which indicates a willingness to adapt the Sussexes’ current arrangements, Harry is said to feel “numbed” by his long struggle to secure protection for his family.

His last full risk assessment as a working member of the family was conducted in April 2019.
