Emotional Michael J Fox vows ‘I won’t surrender to Parkinson’s’ leaving Harrison Ford in tears at 2026 Emmys

NICOLE Kidman and Harrison Ford broke down in tears as Michael J Fox won The Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at Monday night’s Emmy Awards.

Back To the Future star Micheal, 65, appeared on stage in a wheelchair and moved his peers as he opened up about being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at just 29 in 1991.

He said: “Initially I kept my Parkinson’s diagnosis a secret. I worried it would affect my work and relationships with audiences.”

Michael added that he questioned if fans would “laugh if they knew I was sick?”

Harrison, 84 – who starred alongside Michael in Shrinking – was seen getting emotional as the audience gave him a standing ovation.

Actress Nicole, 59, was among those reduced to tears as he shared an insight into his journey with Parkinson’s.

Michael added: “’I’m proud of the progress we’ve made to benefit Parkinson’s patients and families.

“We move closer to eradicating this disease forever.

“I’m deeply grateful to our staff, donors, researchers, and most of all the patient community who make our work at the Michael J Fox foundation.”

Michael signed off his emotional speech by thanking wife Tracy Pollan and their four children “for their sacrifices, for their patience, and for their love. You have no idea. And, of course, my mom and dad and my sisters and brother”.
