Stormzy ended up having a knockout result after flying to Las Vegas at the weekend to watch Conor Benn world title fight against Ryan Garcia.

But while close friend Conor suffered defeat in the ring, Stormzy boxed clever at the Wynn Resorts Casino.

A pal of mine spotted the rapper playing on a high stakes table.

And it’s not hard to see why he might be smiling.

“Stormzy won big at the casino before the fight and couldn’t believe his luck,” my mate explained.

“There were loads of people gathering around to see the commotion.

“Someone said he ended up walking away with £15,000 – which isn’t bad for a quick flutter.

“He isn’t daft though like some people you see. Once Stormzy had the win he walked away.”

A wise man indeed. The getaway was a break from the studio for Stormzy, who is hard at work on his next album.

I exclusively revealed back in March that Stormzy, real name Michael Owuo Jr, was putting down tracks for the follow up to his third No1 album, This Is What I Mean.

He has been working at Metropolis Studios in west London, with insiders telling me he will be celebrating British musicians.

“Michael has decided to celebrate the wealth of amazing music talent we have in the UK,” my mole explained.

“As well as working with established stars, Michael is using the record to work with emerging talent that he loves and to shine a light on how brilliant they are.”

Saweetie sticks out in this outfit, which looked like she was wrapped in branches.

The rapper stripped off to this quirky silver top and skirt combo, stopping traffic in the Big Apple as people tried to get a glimpse.

She wore it to the Grace Ling show as part of New York Fashion Week, fresh from the announcement of a collaboration with Dionne Warwick.

They have teamed up, along with Mya, for a song called One Heart Can Change The World, which will be out on September 25 to mark International World Peace Day.

And Dionne has a special connection to another star who wore a show-stopping look in New York.

Teyana Taylor, who is set to play her in a biopic, wore an all-red outfit with a matching hat, while Iris Law was more subtle with her look.

Showing off her bleached blonde locks, she dressed head-to-toe in cream – unbuttoning her shirt to flash her white bra as she attended the Calvin Klein show.

Graham Norton has insisted Taylor Swift didn’t make people sign non-disclosure agreements at her wedding to Travis Kelce – but everyone agreed not to dish the dirt.

He said: “I was so surprised when Taylor Swift invited me to her wedding on my show. Because I shouldn’t be at Taylor Swift’s wedding, but it was lovely that I was.

“At first I thought it would just be an invitation to the afterparty, but no, we were at the whole thing. It was all about their love story.

“I didn’t have to sign an NDA, but there’s a tacit agreement that you won’t dish all the details of the day.”

Sanam’s TV race dream

13

Sanam Fagan won Love Island with her now husband Kai, but the pair are eyeing up another kind of reality show – Race Across The World.

The lovebirds, who bagged the £50k dating show prize in 2023, are ready for a fresh challenge.

Sanam said: “We both actually want to do Race Across The World.

“That is a different level of, like, testing each other and a different side to people because there’s a lot of pressure, the whole thing, but I feel like I’ll be really good at it.”

As well as trying to tee up her TV future, Sanam opened up about returning to her job in post-adoption social care, where she has now partnered with the You Can Adopt campaign.

She said: “There are around 1,600 more children in need of adoption than there are approved adopters. That’s what this campaign is all about – reassuring adopters that you don’t need to be perfect.

“Don’t rule yourself out.”

Anything flowering Camila?

13

Flower power is the way forward for Camila Cabello.

The singer looked as beautiful as ever as she posed with a white carnation at the weekend.

Camila was spotted sitting front row alongside K-pop superstar Jisoo at the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show and then next to Tate McRae at the US Open.

It’s been two years since Camila released her fourth album, C,XOXO, so rubbing shoulders with fellow singers will hopefully prompt her to get back in the
studio.

Freddie surprised us, Roger

13

Queen defied all expectations in the music industry and nobody was more surprised to see Freddie Mercury become a superstar than drummer bandmate Roger Taylor.

On Vernon Kay’s Tracks Of My Years on Radio 2, he said: “When I heard Fred’s voice for the first time I thought, ‘God, he’ll never be a singer.’ He sounded like a strangled sheep.

“But it’s really an indication of his strength of mind because he really invented himself. He was a lovely shy guy really but with a tremendous strength of character.

Jazz group Ezra Collective are on course for their first No1 album with fourth record Here Because Of Hope.

The collective, who won the 2024 Mercury Prize with their last effort Dance, No One’s Watching, are currently in the lead, just ahead of Bloc Party’s Anatomy Of A Brief Romance, according to Official Charts.

Ariana’s musical parked

13

The reboot of musical Sunday In The Park With George has been axed after Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey dropped out.

The show was set to run at London’s Barbican next summer but won’t go ahead, with organisers instead hoping to launch a version with a different cast the following year.

In a statement, bosses said: “The planned 2027 production will no longer proceed as scheduled. Empire Street Productions will retain the rights with a view to presenting the production in 2028. Further details will be announced when appropriate.”

Ariana announced her exit from the project as part of her hiatus from showbiz, while Jonathan followed suit weeks later, but didn’t explain why.

It’s not turned out to be the walk in the park theatre bosses had hoped for.

Selena’s TLC gives Benny a real buzz

13

Selena Gomez’s husband Benny Blanco has revealed the best day of his life was when he had an allergic reaction to a bee sting – because he got to spend 24 hours in bed with her nursing him.

Benny, who himself is a top producer and songwriter, explained: “I’m very allergic to bees and I got a bee sting. I had to take a very high level of Benadryl.

“I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I was exhausted. I was falling asleep for like 12 hours. I remember just like laying in bed with Selena.

“After I had woken up and I started to feel really good, we spent like a full 24 hours in bed, just talking, laughing, sleeping, cuddling, and just being.

“I remember looking at her, I said, ‘I could do this for the rest of my life.’”

On the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast, he added: “I think it was the best day of my life, maybe besides our wedding. And it was so simple, there was nothing there. We just sat there.”

I’m sure most blokes would feel the same if they got that treatment from Selena.

Get the drinks Flo-ing

Florence Pugh does my idea of a workout as she bicep curls a couple of Aperol Spritzes.

The actress flexed her muscles while bringing the glasses up and down – something I’ve been practising in my garden all summer, too, although mine reach my lips every time.

Flo, who presented a gong at last night’s Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, wrote on Instagram: “It was in the books for me to sign on and do a quick session with my trainer and by the time I got there, there was only 30 minutes spare so I sent him this. Dedicated to the Aperol.”

“So he changed his name and he had this innate musicality. His voice just sort of, as he sang more and more, became stronger and stronge and better and better and better. It really was great.”

Lily album backed by ex-hubby

Lily Allen has praised ex-husband David Harbour’s “generous” response to her album West End Girl.

She wrote the brutal record about the demise of their marriage and while he said it “wasn’t my experience,” he said he had “respect” for her making the album.

Reacting to his comments, she told The Cut: “I think that was a generous thing for him to say.

RECOMMENDED STORIES

“He’s having a real moment of success as well, right? He’s been nominated for an Emmy, and it’s great. We’re all doing our own thing, and we’re all doing what we’re supposed to do.

“If there’s one thing I know about David Harbour, it’s that he’s an excellent actor.”
