Richarlison left out of Tottenham squad to face Liverpool in Carabao Cup after Premier League axe and transfer collapse

RICHARLISON will play no part in Tottenham’s Carabao Cup clash at Liverpool on Tuesday night.

The exiled Brazilian has been left out of Spurs’ 25-man squad for the Premier League after asking to leave.

But the 29-year-old could still have featured in the cup had boss Roberto De Zerbi wanted to call on him.

Yet De Zerbi has put the block on last season’s top-scorer being brought back in from the cold.

The Spurs chief said: “Richarlison, you already know everything, nothing changed for the Carabao Cup or Premier League. The situation is the same.”

Asked if that meant the ex-Everton man would not be involved at Anfield, the Italian simply replied: “No.”

De Zerbi added: “I said in the last press conference, I know what happened in the last 45 days. It’s not right if I explained (the specifics of what has gone on). It’s not my behaviour.

“Is the relationship and the problem is with the player and the club. And I stay inside of the club.

“It’s coach and club together because at the start of this season, I spoke with him many times to convince him to stay and he didn’t want to.

“I can’t go every day to pray for him to stay.”

Meanwhile, Sandro Tonali is out of the Liverpool game having picked up a knock.

Long-term absentee Dejan Kulusevski is still not ready and Pedro Porro misses out again with a fitness issue, but Destiny Udogie is back.

De Zerbi is set to rotate his squad for the trip to Anfield.
