A LINE Of Duty star has revealed he secretly tied the knot with his fiancée this summer in a small London ceremony.

The 50-year-old was first introduced to fans in series one as a Detective Sergeant assigned to the T0-20 unit in Kingsgate Station.

Craig Parkinson played corrupt copper Matthew “Dot” Cottan on the BBC One crime thriller before he made a dramatic exit.

Now, Craig has revealed he has married his fiancée Katie Popperwell in the “most magical day of our lives.”

Taking to Instagram, Craig shared a sweet snap of the pair leaving the courthouse.

The beaming couple could be seen hand-in-hand as they were showered with flower petals by their closest friends and family.

Their big day was not without chaos as Craig admitted they nearly had to call the whole thing off.

His phone was nicked at Paddington Station the night before and they couldn’t find anywhere to host lunch for their forty guests after the ceremony.

But, Craig’s friend Kenny managed to calm his nerves and a chic restaurant around the corner from the courthouse managed to pull through.

He told fans: “Posting this from the beach in Sicily so excuse any sand in the cracks but it is time to share our happy news.

“Back in July Katie and I were married at Old Marylebone Town Hall with our family and a few close friends. We originally wanted to do something bigger but mid-life is complicated, right?

“It really was a perfect day. From the fact that we had a chic registrar from Leeds, to my dear friend Kenny Doughty taking care of my shattered nerves after my phone was nicked at Paddington the night before.

“We almost had to cancel the whole thing when we couldn’t find anywhere for lunch but Clipstone Restaurant emerged from the mist like a mystical wedding oasis with the most incredible sharing menu and the warmest hospitality.

“You try and find somewhere without steps for 40 people on World Cup Final day in central London.”

Craig continued: “It’s hard not to fall into cliche when talking about this but it really WAS the most magical day of our lives. Thank you to all of our family and friends that made the day so full of love.

“We’re both keeping our surnames but we don’t mind if you want to call us The Poppinsons.”

One fan said: “Massive love and huge congratulations.”

Meanwhile another wrote: “The Poppinsons. Practically perfect in every way.”

He and Katie got engaged in 2024 when she asked marry him. The pair celebrated with their friends in restaurant Bistro The Que.
