ENGLAND star Henry Pollock revealed he would be keen to cross over to boxing or MMA abroad as negotiations over a new contract with Northampton Saints continue.

Pollock, 21, is represented by combat sports supremo Eddie Hearn‘s Matchroom agency and was the promoter’s guest for Katie Taylor’s farewell fight in Dublin earlier this month.

According to The Telegraph, the flanker has reportedly been wooed by the prospects in other sports and reiterated that he remains “open to every opportunity”, such as a move to a fighting ring.

Pollock said: “I definitely want to go and live in different countries, explore new sports, explore new avenues.

“Again, that’s all down to the management team. I’m just speaking to them loads and assessing my options and seeing what’s right for myself.

“I did loads of sports [when I was younger] so I guess [I am] open to everything. But [I am] definitely keeping my cards close to my chest at this stage.

“I love my boxing and MMA. And now I’ve signed with Matchroom, it’s definitely opened new avenues into that.

“It’s cool to experience new sports and it’s cool to experience different scenarios.

“I’m open to everything and I’m never going to say no to an opportunity, but at the minute rugby is my main priority, so I’m focusing on that in the near future.

“But, as I said, you never know what’s happening around the corner.”

Northampton director of rugby Phil Dowson is confident Pollock will sign a new deal at Franklin’s Gardens.

The England international insists he is looking for the best thing in his career.

Pollock added: “I’m very much at the minute working through different scenarios and different avenues I can take.

“The big thing for me is making sure that my management are happy with it and they’re doing all that stuff.

“I’m open to every opportunity. I’m not going to say no to stuff that I think will be good for my career and good for me. I’m very young but I’m still very open to lots of new things.”
