DULUX has unveiled its Colour of the Year for 2027 and its a trending tone that will instantly brighten your home.

When it comes to interiors, keeping colours neutral can sometimes feel a little dull.

Inoffensive and versatile tones like grey and beige have long been go-tos for a modern and charming yet minimalist feel in the home.

But Dulux has declared a new neutral hue of the moment – and it’s way fresher, brighter and prettier than any sort of greige.

According to colour experts at the iconic paint brand, Soulful Sage is the “ultimate mood saviour” when it comes to home decor.

The light and breezy green shade has been crowned the next Colour of the Year, having shot up in popularity lately.

Praising Soulful Sage for its endless versatility and style, Daniel Smith, homeware pro and Danetti founder, told The Sun: “Dulux’s new Colour of the Year isn’t just versatile, it’s a shade that can subtly shift the mood of a room and has a quiet confidence that doesn’t shout for attention.

“What I love most is how it encourages bolder styling, its softness
allows you to introduce sharper contrasts and even unexpected pops of colour. Think rich rust, deep navy or plum, those accents don’t compete with the shade, they energise it,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kellie Wyles, head of upholstery and brand at DFS, explains that you don’t have to give your home a huge makeover in order to embrace a sagey moment.

“Introducing sage green through upholstery is a great way to embrace the trend without committing to an entire re-design. Naturally serene and inherently versatile, a sage green sofa will not only uplift the space but is timeless enough to withstand the test of time,” she said.

“Sage is an upholstery colour that pairs beautifully with light woods and stone to create a space that puts you instantly at ease.”

Kellie continued: “Look to fabrics with a slight texture such as chenille, or sofa styles with details such as contrast piping to keep the look contemporary. To add energy into the look, introduce richer greens through accent chairs, accessories and living plants.”
