ONE of Hollywood’s biggest action stars has announced he and his wife are to split up.
Known for the hunky lead role in crime-fighting drama Reacher, Alan Ritchson shared the news in a joint Instagram statement with his wife Catherine, after 20 years of marriage.

Having originally met in school, reconnected in college and wed in 2006, the pair announced that they have “decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way”.
The couple – who are parents to three sons Calem, Edan and Amory – penned: “We grew up together – we built a life and a family together – and we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.
“Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us or the love and respect we will always share.
“The best gift we can give one another — and our boys — right now is friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be.

“We also want to give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming.”
Pressing the need for respect in wake of their announcement, they added: “Change is hard enough without the whole world weighing in.
“We hope, especially for the sake of our boys, that you will allow our family to move through this chapter with privacy and compassion.”
The statement concluded with: “Thanks for supporting us as we continue making the health and happiness of our family our priority. Cat and Alan.”

Their son Calem was born in 2012, followed by Edan in 2013 and Amory in 2015.
According to TMZ, divorce papers were filed in December 2025, but the pair reconciled in March 2026.
In July, Catherine shared a snap of the five of them at the premiere for Alan’s movie Motor City, gushing over it.
Just a month ago, she shared another image of the family in Philadelphia, taken while Alan filmed on location there for the fourth season of Reacher.
Her next post – shared just two days before the seperation announcment – saw her on a solo trip, snapping a selfie and quoting a satement by Minimalist artist Dan Flavin which read: “It is what it is, and it ain’t nothing else.”
She cryptically captioned that it was a “statement that resonates”.
Alan, meanwhile, has been busy promoting Runner, his latest film, alongside Owen Wilson.
The flick is currently the number one action movie in America.
