AN 88-YEAR-OLD woman found dead at home has been pictured – with a man, 36, arrested on suspicion for murder.

Victim Jill Grant was discovered in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, on Thursday afternoon.

Her family has released an image in tribute – while the suspect remains in custody.

The force said: “Thames Valley Police can confirm the identity of the victim in its Major Crime Unit’s ongoing murder investigation in Abingdon.

“The investigation was launched after officers were called to an address in Appleford Drive at around 2.20pm on Thursday (10/9).

“The victim has been identified as Jill Gant, aged 88, of Appleford Drive, Abingdon.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Jill’s family.

“We would ask, on their behalf, that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.”

“Specially trained officers continue to support Jill’s family.
