RUBEN AMORIM has taken a swipe at critical former Manchester United stars… eight months on from his Old Trafford departure.
The Portuguese, 41, was sacked in January following a dismal spell as Red Devils manager.

Amorim finished 15th in his first season at the helm and also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham.
He was sacked after 14 months with a 38.1 per cent win rate – the lowest of any United boss post-Sir Alex Ferguson.
During his time at Old Trafford, Amorim faced intense scrutiny from former Man Utd players.
Wayne Rooney called some of Amorim’s press conferences “very confusing”, while Paul Scholes claimed that he didn’t “get the club”.

Gary Neville even labelled a performance “the baddest of the bad”, and was namechecked by Amorim during his final days at the club.
The former United boss has won two and drawn one of his opening three Serie A matches in charge of AC Milan.
Last week’s 1-1 draw at Juventus was criticised as Milan struggled to create chances a conceded a last minute equaliser.
Ahead of today’s clash with Lazio, it was put to Amorim that Milan legends do want him to be given time in the role.

With a nod to his Man Utd stint, Amorim responded: “I was in a club in the past with a lot of legends, and they have big opinions, and they talk a lot about things. They lived in a time that was completely different.”
Amorim then went on to add: “I do not want my players to forget the importance of playing for and winning for AC Milan. For me, that is the most important thing.
“We need time, but how much time we have depends on the club and not on me.
“We have to build a foundation to win consistently and that takes time. If we look at the Premier League, how long did Arsenal take to win?
“And if we also look in Italy at Juventus and Inter. It takes time to win consistently and you have to build something.
“To buy time, we have to win on Saturday. By winning, we will have more time to build our project.”
During Friday’s press conference, which took place on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Amorim also made a clumsy analogy about an “aeroplane accident”.
He said: “I think we should improve in every training session.
“I expect that my players understand, it’s like when you have an accident with an airplane, you learn something from.”

“If something wrong happens, we take a lot of information and we put it in training sessions.”
