Chilli flakes cost 59p at Lidl, and can be turned into a homemade solution against pests.
To make it, simply mix the chilli flakes with water and heat the mixture to help infuse the spicy ingredients.
Allow it to cool before sieving out the chilli flakes.
The remaining liquid can then be poured into a spray bottle and applied to areas where you want to discourage rats.
