Hopefuls will take on Littler in a single leg of 501, and if anyone can have the leg of their lives – or two-time world champ Littler slips up – they will win £501,000.
The contestants are being selected through auditions in London and Manchester, and 2,000 queued up at the Here East complex in East London, with only a handful making it through to the next round.
Bailey, from Bridgwater, Somerset, who is an electrician by trade, said it took him 21 darts to check out – but he still made it through to the next round.
He told SunSport: “I was a bit slow to begin with. Happy to be through to the next round though, and we’ll see how it goes.”

Asked if he thought he could beat Littler in the live show, he replied: “Yeah I think I’ve got a 12-darter or 15-darter in me to get it over the line.”
Asked what he would do with the top prize, he replied: “Probably pay off the house. That’s the plan. I would like to go pro. I’m currently playing on the Champions Tour and doing alright in that.
“I’m going to go to Q school (PDC qualifying school) again this year and see where it goes.”
Former England striker Gary Lineker will host the Netflix show on October 30, with Pointless creator and darts fanatic Richard Osman providing analysis.

Another hopeful who made it through the first round – George, 30, from Poplar, East London – also thought he could beat Littler.
George, who checked out in 19 darts, said: “On my day, yeah, I could beat him. Over one leg.”
The Manchester auditions will take place on September 19 at Manchester Central Convention Complex.
