FAMOUS families from the Beckhams to the Rooneys have followed the latest celebrity trend in cashing in from inviting cameras into their homes.

But when Michael Owen became the latest star to give access-all-areas to TV crews, his Love Island star daughter Gemma made a number of special demands.

We can reveal Gemma – who finished runner-up on the ITV2 show in 2022 – insisted she would only speak on subjects relating to her family and career ambitions for the future.

Our TV insider said: “Gemma made clear she would not talk about Love Island.

“She even refused to name it, merely referring to it as a reality show.

“Gemma was on Love Island four years ago. To her, it’s in the past. She wants to move on and focus on the future.

The Prime Video douseries saw Gemma bravely train as a jokey to ride in the Magnolia Cup charity race.

Her dream was almost shattered however, when she was flung from the horse as her horrified parents watched on.

Refusing to give up, Gemma got straight back on the horse and went on to finish third despite her cuts and bruises.

“She is determined to prove herself as being more than just a Love Islander.

“She’s got all the money and opportunities in the world to have an easy life, but she’s adamant to keep proving herself.

“For viewers who may not have known Gemma from Love Island, the series gave an insight into her tenacity and grit.

“She’s not one to be underestimated.”

The 23-year-old also made clear to TV bosses she would not be discussing her love life on her family’s series.

This week Gemma revealed she had secretly split from her multi-millionaire boyfriend Red Morgan in June.

The equestrian opened up about a difficult week following the death of a close family friend and days later calling time on her relationship with the property tycoon heir, 22.

Speaking on her latest vlog, she said: “We had some really sad news of a really close family friend. He passed away really suddenly and unexpectedly.

“And within a day or two, Red and I split up, which I’m obviously not going to go into too much detail about either of the things because they’re both personal.”

The Sun revealed Gemma and Red were an item in April last year while they were on a luxury holiday in Dubai.

Red is a talented showjumper having represented Great Britain in the European Championships at youth level.

His dad Steve, 73, featured on the latest Sunday Times rich list with an estimated fortune of £935million.

He founded housebuilding company Redrow and is an ex-chairman of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Following the split, Gemma spent time with family and friends and said she focused on herself.

Gemma added: “Red and I are on good terms. We’re friends.

“It was a mutual decision and ultimately we just came to a bit of a crossroads and we wanted different things out of the relationship.

“We didn’t want to waste anyone’s time if we weren’t both sort of aligned with what we want. So yeah, that’s what’s been going on. It’s been, as you can imagine, a pretty hard few weeks, months.”
