ITV went to extreme lengths to hide Cheryl from being seen before filming The Voice, The Sun can exclusively reveal.
The former X Factor judge, 43, arrived in Manchester a day early to make sure she had plenty of time for hair and makeup.
A source said: “Cheryl knows there is a lot riding on this and her comeback.
“She checked into her five-star suite on Thursday night before sitting down for glam yesterday morning.
“When she left her room, she was flanked by ITV staff who kept her covered by giant umbrellas at all times.
“ITV were taking no chances, and all fans in the queue for the studio audience had their phones removed too.”

Her arrival on the show comes as Sir Tom Jones was axed after 13 years.
The Welsh legend has been very vocal about his wish to stay on the show.
He said in a statement earlier this week: “To be clear, I did not want to leave The Voice as I love the show and really appreciate the audience.
“ITV made this decision—obviously a while ago, and I was just told recently. The reason given is because of a financial difficulty with insurance.
