SIGNING up to a supermarket scheme NOW could help guarantee you a Christmas delivery slot.
Most supermarkets offer delivery passes to customers which let you get unlimited free delivery as long as you pay a monthly subscription fee.
They say you can save as much as £194 a year on delivery costs by signing up.
But the passes can also give you access to extra perks, including early access to Christmas delivery slots.
That means you won’t have to fight off everyone else to get your slot – and you can relax in the knowledge your festive groceries will be coming straight to your door in time for the big day.
However, if you want to make use of this perk you’ll need to sign up soon before the early slots open.

Tesco

Get early access to both Tesco‘s Christmas and Easter slots with its Anytime delivery pass.
The passes cost £7.99 a month for seven months, or £6.99 a month for 12 months.
Standard delivery usually costs £3 to £7 per slot, so you’ll make your money back quickly if you do more than one online shop a month.

Be aware that if you’re on the cheaper Off Peak delivery pass plan, you won’t get the early access to Christmas slots.
If you want to save and you’re happy to head into your nearest Tesco store, a Click+ Collect option is available for £2.49 a month for six months.
Christmas delivery slots are usually available to book three to four weeks in advance.
Morrisons

Morrisons also gives early Christmas slot access to delivery pass holders.
Last year, the supermarket let pass holders book their Christmas slots from October 1.
The actual delivery slots were between December 20 to 24.
The minimum delivery order was just £25.
It’s not clear yet when the slots will open this year but it’s worth signing up soon so you don’t miss out.
Customers can choose between two pass types, the Anytime (seven days a week) or Midweek (Tuesday-Thursday).
The Anytime pass costs £8 a month, or £45 for six months or £70 for a year.
The Midweek one is cheaper at £5 a month, £25 for six months, or £40 a year.
Standard delivery costs are usually between £1.50 to £7 per slot, depending on the day and time.
Sainsbury’s

You can get access to Christmas slots a few days earlier than everyone else if you sign up for the Sainsbury’s delivery pass.
Last year, delivery pass holders could book slots from October 16 while other customers could book from October 23.
The delivery dates are from December 18 up until Christmas Eve.
The Anytime Delivery Pass gets you free delivery once per day, seven days a week when you spend £50 or more.
It costs £80 for a year, £43 for six months or £7.50 for a monthly pass.
The Midweek Delivery pass lets you get one free delivery per day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays when you spend £40 or more.
The pass costs £40 for a year, or £4 for a monthly pass.
Standard delivery usually costs between £1 to £9.50.
Asda

Get your Christmas slot booked a few days ahead of anyone else with a delivery pass.
Slots opened for delivery pass holders on October 15 last year, while other customers had to wait until October 20.
You’ll be able to book a delivery any time in the week leading up to Christmas, as well as up to and including New Year’s Eve.
Asda says it has the UK’s cheapest supermarket delivery passes, starting from just £3.95 a month.
The seven-day-a-week pass costs £6.95 a month for 12 months or £7.95 a month for six months.
If you’re paying annually it’s £69.50, or it’s £40 for six months.
If you go for a Tuesday to Thursday pass, it’s £4.50 a month for six months or £3.95 a month for 12 months.
You can also get it for £39.50 if you pay annually, or £22 if you pay for six months.
Standard delivery prices are usually £1 to £7 per slot.
Ocado

Sadly, it’s too late now if you’re not already signed up for an Ocado delivery pass.
However, if you were already signed up before September 1 then you’ll get priority access to book a slot for Christmas week.

Waitrose

It’s also too late to get access to the early Christmas delivery slots with Waitrose if you’re not a delivery pass holder already.
Like with Ocado, the deadline for signing up was September 1.
Slots open up on September 30.
