He spent two fights at middleweight last year against Chris Eubank Jr – losing the first bout but winning the November rematch.
Benn, 29, then returned in a 150lb catchweight clash in April when he laboured past 37-year-old Regis Prograis on points.
The son of British boxing great Nigel has described his cut back down to 147lb as “hell” – leaving him in floods of tears.
But Garcia is not buying it as he hit back: “All we can do is go by a past experience. He cut back down to 150 to fight Regis.

The blockbuster Las Vegas event is under the arm of Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing promotion.
Garcia, 28, captured his first world title in February by securing a dominant unanimous decision victory over Mario Barrios.
Benn, 29, is challenging for a world title for the first time in his professional career.
His sole professional defeat came against domestic rival Chris Eubank Jr in April 2025, a loss he quickly avenged with a dominant unanimous decision victory in their November 2025 rematch.
Benn enters the biggest bout of his life following a decisive points win over former world champion Regis Prograis in April, which marked his debut under Zuffa Boxing.

Garcia, 28, has been dismissive of Benn’s ability and credibility as a worthy world title challenger.
The American champ said: “He doesn’t have the speed or the attributes to keep up with me, so he has limited options.
“And those limited options are rough him up, make him uncomfortable, and try to wear him out for later in the fight.
“But again, when you prepare well, I’m well-conditioned, he can bring whatever intensity he wants.
“I’m going to break him down and ultimately get him out of there.”
