EDDIE NKETIAH has reportedly been approached to switch his international allegiance.

The Crystal Palace striker is the England U21s top scorer of all-time but has only ever played once for the senior side.

Nketiah, 27, made his full England debut in a friendly match against Australia in 2023.

The game ended 1-0 with the former Arsenal star coming off the bench in the 73rd-minute.

He could now make a change after reportedly being approached by the Ghana FA.

The Standard have claimed that the nation has previously attempted to get him to switch in the past.

It is now suggesting that it could make another approach to get Nketiah to represent the Black Stars.

Nketiah qualifies for Ghana through his parents despite being born in Lewisham, South London.

Nketiah played for the Three Lions at U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels.

He scored a staggering 35 goals across each age group, including 16 for the U21s.

His record for the U21s is the best ever, with Harvey Elliott in second place with 14 and Francis Jeffers in third with 12 goals.

Nketiah would still be allowed to make the allegiance swap as per Fifa rules.

It is stated that a player must have made more than three appearances for the senior team before their 21st birthday in order to be ineligible to switch.

This means that Nketiah could still represent Ghana and play alongside the likes of Man City star Antoine Semenyo and Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus.

Nketiah has been a regular for Palace this season, having started all three Premier League games.

He is yet to score this season but has picked up one assist.
