THE English Open Snooker Championship was temporarily suspended due to a medical emergency in the crowd on Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened during the quarter-final match between Wu Yize and Liam Davies.

With Davies leading 25-4 in the fifth frame, a noise from the crowd caught the attention of both players and the referee.

Once the offical realised what had happened, he instructed Wu and Davies to return to their seats.

After a few moments, all three then left the arena.

The TNT Sports commentator went on to wish the affected spectator well, saying: “We wish them all the best, it’s a horrible situation.”
