JOSE MOURINHO had to awkwardly correct a TV reporter mid-interview after his first Champions League win back at Real Madrid.
The Portuguese boss oversaw Real’s 2-1 win over Inter, courtesy of goals from Kylian Mbappe and Federico Valverde.
After the game, a journalist interviewing the Special One for CBS said it was nice to see him back at the Bernabeu in the Champions League.
However, Mourinho replied by reminding them he had played there with Benfica last season.
With a smirk on his face as he finished the sentence, the 63-year-old said: “I played last season here with Benfica.”
Mourinho’s Benfica team suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Real in Spain, with Aurelien Tchouameni and Vinicius Junior scoring the goals in a comeback victory for the hosts in a narrow two-legged play-off clash.

The reporter clarified they meant him being in the Real dugout, to which Mourinho replied: “Yeah, but Champions League is Champions League, no?
“I enjoyed last season with Benfica, but with Real you have a different – I don’t want to say motivation or responsibility because I had it fully in Benfica – weight of history of the club.”
He continued: “These eight matches, it’s not like the second or the third matches are crucial, they’re not.
“But if you can start like we did with three points against one of the top teams, then it’s a good start.”

Real suffered their first loss under Mourinho at the weekend as the manager was haunted by one of his former Tottenham players, Troy Parrott, who climbed off the bench to score the winner for Real Betis.
They face Rayo Vallecano next weekend, where they will be hoping not to lose any more early ground to Barcelona in the title race.
Mourinho returned to Real for a second spell after previously managing the club between 2010 and 2013.
He won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup in his first spell, and will be aiming to repeat the trick or even win more this time around.
