TIM SHERWOOD has recalled the time a young Steven Gerrard blew him away after being drafted in to train with England.
Former Three Lions midfielder Sherwood is co-hosting The Sun’s brilliant new show Greatest Of All Teams, brought to you by Sun Vegas.

In the latest episode he delved into his time in the Three Lions camp, and his memories of a teenage Gerrard taking the fight to senior stars.
Sherwood was joined in The Sun’s GOAT studio by StevoTheMadMan and former Premier League striker Dave Kitson.
And it was after Kitson was asked about the best players he had faced that the Gerrard stories began to flow.
The former Reading centre-forward said: “People often ask me who the best players I ever played against.

“They’re not centre-halves, a lot of them are midfielders, where I would be facing the player and I would be looking at those guys getting on the ball.
“[Luka] Modric would be one, [Paul] Scholes, but Gerrard. In terms of players that could just win a game on their own.”
Sherwood’s three England caps came in 1999, when Gerrard was an up-and-comer with the Under-21s.
He said: “When I was around the England team, he would have come in and trained with us and you could see straight away, he’d been flying into tackles, you were looking at this kid.

“We all know his technical ability, but his actual drive and his determination to want to be better than everyone else.
“And to have absolutely zero respect for anyone he’s playing against, which is a great attribute to have.”
Gerrard went on to win 114 England caps and play over 700 games for Liverpool, going down as one of the greatest Three Lions stars of all time.
