Grow up, Mili

ED Miliband’s sanctions are better suited to student politics than the grown-up business of international diplomacy.

His allegation that Israeli settlers in the West Bank are guilty of “ethnic cleansing” was designed to win the approval of the hard Left.

His wrong-headed decision to boycott goods from those settlements will only damage trade and could end up punishing ordinary Palestinians — as well as Brits reliant on Israeli-made medicines.

It has also upset our closest allies in Washington and Tel Aviv at a time of rising global tension, leading to the closure of the UK consulate in Jerusalem.

Why has Labour done this now — especially as Israel plays a key role in providing vital security intelligence and defence tech to help keep Britain safe?

It smacks of being a nakedly partisan stunt to win back Gaza-obsessed voters from the Greens ahead of Labour’s party conference, and next month’s by-election in Holborn and St Pancras.

By doing so, Miliband has played into the hands of the antisemitic pro-Hamas mob who have already brought enough division and hate to our streets.

Yesterday, the Chief Rabbi called it a dark day for British Jews, while the Jewish Leadership Council said the Government had made them an “increased target”.

All so Labour can win cheap points with pro-Palestine activists and Leftists.

Lock ’em up

WHEN even the notoriously soft UN thinks Britain is failing on illegal migration it’s time for a radical change of course.

From handing £1billion to France, to the shambolic one in, one out scheme, NONE of it has stopped the boats.

It’s clearer than ever that what an angry public wants is for all illegal migrants to be detained on arrival.

Putting them in camps would curb the migrant crimewave and make women feel safer.

Even the useless Home Office would know where every migrant was instead of losing track of the tens of thousands who disappear every year.

Crucially, if migrants knew they were going to be locked up — instead of enjoying free housing and healthcare — they wouldn’t come here in the first place.

Tech airheads

WHAT the hell is going on at our airports?

Thousands of passengers were left stranded yesterday by a “technical fault” in the air traffic control system — the THIRD major incident in three years.

National Air Traffic Services boss Martin Rolfe, paid £1.3million a year, is facing calls from furious airlines to quit.

Passengers might like him — and his creaking computer systems — to be a whole lot more resilient.
