A MAN was killed and several others left injured after a BMW left the road in a horror crash as a woman in her 20s was arrested.
Officers scrambled to the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning after reports of a single vehicle collision at junction 10 of the A1 in Bedfordshire.
Cops believe a black BMW was travelling northbound when it veered off the carriageway.
One man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as three other people were rushed to hospital.
A woman in her 20s was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail.
Police are appealing for witnesses and urge anyone with information to call 101.
Detective Constable Lewis Stanley, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident which has seen one person sadly die and several sustain injuries.
“We’re working to establish what caused the collision and would appeal for anyone who witnessed it, or anyone who saw – or may have dash-cam footage of – a black BMW driving along the A1 just prior to the incident, to get in touch.”
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a collision which left one man dead and several people injured.
“Officers were called at approximately 3.20am on Sunday (6 September), to reports of a single vehicle collision at junction 10 of the A1. It’s believed the vehicle, a black BMW, had been travelling northbound when it left the road.

“One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while three other people were taken to hospital.
“One person, a woman in her 20s, was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed.”
