A BLIND man with no licence was nabbed for drink driving on the M6 after doing 150 miles in two hours, a court heard.
Anthony Hall, 50, told police he retains some “light perception” so he used other vehicles’ tail lights to guide him.
At one point, a service station attendant helped him refuel on June 29.
Officers stopped him as he weaved over the road in Cumbria on his way to Scotland after taking his partner’s Vauxhall Minerva without consent.
He told them he was registered blind and knew the risks but wanted to “get far away from his home life” due to rows.
Hall, of Huddersfield, gave a breath alcohol reading of 50mg in 100ml.

He admitted drink driving before Kirklees JPs and got 36 weeks’ jail, suspended for 18 months.
He was disqualified for 12 months.
Prosecutor Damian Walsh told Kirklees magistrates’ court that Hall had been driving for more than two hours when he was stopped.

He said: “The officer observed the vehicle weaving in lane one, drifting onto the hard shoulder and back and then drifting into lane two and back.
“The officer guided the defendant to the back of his patrol car. As the officer was speaking to the defendant, he could smell alcohol on his breath.
“Hall admitted he had drunk some wine.
“The officer then asked the defendant if he was blind and he said ‘yes’.
“He can see some light and he told officers that he had followed the red lights of a HGV.
“However, he overtook the HGV and was looking for another marker to assist him.
“He told officers he had driven from his home in Huddersfield to where he was now stopped. Officers checked that distance on Google maps and that came out to be 150 miles.”
