A BBC Radio 1 presenter has revealed that she’s QUIT the hit show – but it is not all bad news for fans.
DJ Maia Beth, 26, who has hosted Future Pop on the Channel from 2022, took to Instagram to share the news with fans.

Maia shot to fame on BBC Radio 1 as part of the Christmas presenters initiative in 2021.
The star has hosted Mollie King’s Future Pop for the past four years, a show which is on air every Wednesday between 8:00pm and 10:00pm.
As well as Future Pop, she also also started presenting Radio 1’s Happy Anthems at 1:00pm every day in 2024.
Now the host is taking a step back from her role on Future Pop – but fans will be happy to know that she will still be around for her other presenting gig Happy Anthems.

Maia took to her social media page to shre some pictures from throughout her time on Future Pop.
She captioned the post: “GOOD BYE FUTURE POP.
“I’ve worked at the BBC since I was a teenager, and BBC Radio 1 for 5 years. Radio 1 has given me so many beautiful opportunities like being the first person in the UK to play Chappell Roan, DJing Main Stage at Big Weekend in Sunderland, moshing side of stage to Limp Bizkit & helping to support so many artist’s careers I love on Future Pop.
“But I made the really difficult decision to leave Future Pop. Anyone who knows me will know how much I love this show and how passionate I am about supporting artists journeys from the very start – and I’m still going to be doing that!

“I’m going to be interviewing artists for the Mercury Prize, doing the Gladiators live tour, DJing the finish line of the Great North Run, working at so many amazing wrestling shows and celebrating new music every way I can.
“I won’t be a stranger to BBC Radio 1 I’ll still be across the station including on Happy Anthems.
“But wanted to say a big thank you to the lovely producers & presenters that helped me grow and the artists that provided the most lovely soundtrack to everything so far.”
Fans rushed to the comments section to share the love after she shared the heartbreaking news.
