WETHERSPOONS is slashing the price of all food and drink for an entire day this month.
The budget pub chain’s menu will become even more affordable for punters after a cheap meal and drink.
Wetherspoons prices will be cut by 7.5 per cent in honour of Tax Equality Day.
September 17 will see the business’s pints and pub food cost way less as it “highlights the benefit of a permanent VAT reduction in the hospitality industry”.
The discounts will be made in every Spoons branch across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and will even apply to alcohol.
Punters in Scotland will only be able to enjoy the reduced prices across food and non-alcoholic drinks.

All food and drink in pubs and restaurants is currently subject to 20 per cent VAT – while supermarkets don’t have to follow the same rules.
Grocery retailers don’t pay VAT on food which means they are able to offer more generous discounts on drink.
Sir Tim Martin, founder and chairman of Wetherspoons, is calling for pub VAT to be cut to 12.5 per cent – hence the upcoming 7.5 per cent discount day.
The CEO says that the reduced financial pressure on pubs, bars and restaurants would reduce the amount forced to close and mean less price hikes.

“A VAT cut to 12.5 per cent is needed to ensure that pubs, bars and restaurants do not continue to close, but instead thrive, invest and create new jobs,” he said.
“We call on the chancellor to create tax equality between the hospitality industry and supermarkets.”
Depending on the original prices at your local Wetherspoons, customers could be able to enjoy a large breakfast for as little as £6.97.
Meanwhile a pint of Bud Light could be as cheap as £5.09.
