Transgender woman falsely accused six innocent men of rape – including one who tried to take own life after vile lie

A TRANSGENDER woman who falsely accused six innocent men of rape as part of a sick web of lies has been jailed.

Khloe Simmonds, 26, made at least 12 bogus claims over an seven-year period that resulted in multiple police investigations.

At one point, the fiend’s lies “single-handedly” made up two-and-a-half per cent of all rape and serious sexual assault allegations in Harrow.

One of the defendant’s victims tried to take his own life after Simmonds accused him of rape – leading to an 88-day police probe.

In reality, the liar had propositioned him for sex, which the victim had refused.

Simmonds has now been jailed for seven-and-a-half years after being convicted of eight counts of perverting the course of justice.

Sentencing, Judge John Lodge said: “This was a sustained pattern of conduct: not isolated incidents but a pattern of established conduct making false allegations.

“You demonstrated an increasing awareness of forensic techniques and investigative processes. They showed you knowing more and more about how these matters are investigated.

“Your conduct caused a serious impact on the administration of justice. Resources that should have been going to investigations for victims of serious crime redirected into allegations that were entirely false.

“False allegations of rape risk undermining public confidence in the criminal justice system.”

Judge Lodge also said there was an “element of sophistication” to the offences, which had “serious” and “distressing” consequences for the victims and their reputations.

Harrow Crown Court heard Simmonds is a pre-operative trans woman and was referred to using female pronouns throughout the hearing.

Simmonds made the first allegation in May 2018 – claiming she had been dragged to the ground and raped in Hendon Park by “a tall man who smelled of cannabis“.

Two months later, the defendant accused an Afghan national of following her and a friend back to a hostel.

Simmonds claimed he pulled a knife from his waistband and held it to her throat before orally raping her.

The court heard Simmonds drew a map for police and told officers about the first rape claim to “falsify credibility” and “garner sympathy”.

Police launched a full investigation, with forensics, fingerprints and sniffer dogs and notified immigration services before later dropping the probe.

In a victim impact statement, the man said the false allegation ended his relationship, that his brothers stopped speaking to him and said he had tried to end his life multiple times.

He added: “It has destroyed my life.”

Simmonds also accused a chef of drugging and raping her after “turning creepy” on a Grindr date.

The court heard she mentioned her status as a pre-operative trans woman, claiming she had told him: “My breasts are false. It’s not worth it.”

When police arrived, Simmonds ignored advice to preserve DNA evidence by smoking and drinking in front of the officers.

In reality, the man had arrived on a date but left after no more than a hug after being troubled by the mess in Simmonds’ home.

He told police Simmonds was dancing and singing “Am I going to get lucky?” when he arrived and noticed the smell of whiskey in a beer can after he went to the toilet.

Simmonds also accused a taxi driver of rape – unaware the vehicle’s black box showed the car had been travelling at 25mph and had not stopped.

This resulted in the defendant being arrested but released under investigation.

Prosecutor Ben Temple said: “In police interview she admitted the falsity of her allegation. She admitted being very drunk. She admitted she had lied.

“She said she had mental health issues. She had difficulty abusing alcohol and difficulty with her gender transition. In her words ‘That was no excuse’.

“She had been seeking gender transition for two years but her GP had not granted it.”

Simmonds was arrested and released under investigation for the second time on August 4, 2022, over 20 allegations of perverting the course of justice.

At this time, she was making a large volume of calls to police, including 27 in one night, with one of those calls lasting 23 minutes.

Simmonds’ web of lies eventually came to an end in January this year after the 12th allegation was made against her final victim.

Dominic Benthall, defending, said Simmonds had been diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and alcohol dependency, and that there was “plainly an underlying mental health difficulty” contributing to her offending.

Comparing the defendant to Westminster paedophile-ring fantasist Carl Beech, Mr Benthall said Simmonds’ allegations were “scattershot” and “unplanned”.
