FORMER Tottenham player Serge Aurier is poised to plunge his career to new depths – by joining a SEVENTH-TIER club in France.
The Ivory Coast defender helped Spurs reach the 2019 Champions League final during a four-year stay in north London.
The £23milliion buy from Paris Saint-Germain made 110 club appearances, scoring eight goals, before leaving in 2021.
He later spent two years with Nottingham Forest.
Aurier, 33, has been a free agent since leaving Iranian giants Persepolis earlier this year.
The right-back is now in talks with French minnows Montigny-en-Gohelle, who are based eight miles east of Lens.

Playing in the second division of the Hauts-de-France regional league, they conceded TEN goals at the weekend to rivals Biache-Saint-Vaast.
Aurier’s deal is reportedly being held up due to delays with documents from the Iranian FA.
But sources close to the defender told local paper La Voix du Nord they expect him to get the green light to sign imminently.
Aurier began his career at Lens, coming through their academy and making his professional debut.

He has recently been appointed the northern club’s Under-15 coach, but plans to keep his playing career alive with Montigny.
Aurier won 11 trophies with PSG, and has twice helped Ivory Coast lift the Africa Cup of Nations.
He has also played for Toulouse, Villarreal and Galatasaray – helping the Turkish side win the Super Lig title in 2024.
