BRUNO FERNANDES has cut down on watching video nasties of his own displays to become the Prem’s best player.
The Manchester United captain revealed he used to get home from a match and watch a rerun of the FULL 90 minutes to analyse how he performed.
But Fernandes, recently crowned the PFA Player of the Year to add to the Football Writers’ Association and the Premier League’s player of the year, says he has now ditched his intense post-match routine in a bid to let go.
When asked if he watches tape of his games, the Portuguese playmaker said: “I normally do. I stopped a little bit because I was too much into the previous game.
“Two years ago, I used to get home and watch the full 90 minutes of the game straight away.
“My wife and kids have gone to bed and I was watching the game back in the living room.

“I would stop the game and look at the frame where I missed a pass or a shot. I tried to understand the process behind it.
“But I wasn’t letting myself go from the last game. I thought, ‘I need to start moving forward’.
“I looked at the mistakes that I did before and I would need to make it right. Sometimes the mistake I did would be the right decision for the next game.
“I have learned with the process to let it go. I now go with small bits and clips the club gives us.”

Maturing midfielder Fernandes, who leads United at Everton today, is a football nut — and says he will watch ANY football going.
He told the United podcast: “I watch a lot of football. I watch the Premier League, the Portuguese, Spanish, Italian league.
“I watch the Saudi league because we have so many Portuguese players there. I like to see them.
“The Turkish league because I have good friends there. I’m into everything.
“I like to watch the Under-23s in Portugal so I can see who is the next one coming through. I just like football in general.”
Fernandes’ impressive performances last season — which included a record-breaking 21 Prem assists — guided Michael Carrick’s side to third place and a return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2023-24 season.
The Red Devils kick-off their campaign against Azerbaijan debutants Sabah at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Fernandes, who turns 32 on Tuesday, will return to former club Sporting in November.
He said: “The kids and I made a list at home of the teams we thought we would get.
“Gonzalo picked the most — he got five out of the eight teams. He was the only one who didn’t have Sporting. Matilda and myself did.
“I’m very happy to be going back to play there against them.
“Obviously, it’s a mixed feeling because I have great history there.
“I became the player I am today mostly because of the step I did from Italy to Portugal. I became a player that could play in the Premier League because of the build-up in Sporting.
“I’m very grateful for everything the club did for me. I love the fans, the time I spent there was amazing.
“We had our ups and downs but I won trophies with them and was very good. It will be a mixed feeling of how it will be when I am back and how the people will see and look at you.
