WOLVERHAMPTON star Jackson Tchatchoua has scored a shocking own-goal against Birmingham City

The 24-year-old defender found the back of his own net after a rogue attempt to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper against the Blues.

Tchatchoua was facing pressure from an oncoming attacker as the ball bobbled towards him in the 36th minute of the Championship contest.

Panic then set in as the Cameroon international applied too much power as he tried to pass the ball back to keeper Jose Sa on the bounce.

But it flew straight past Sa as the keeper scrambled in an unsuccessful effort to stop the own-goal.

It comes after former Fulham winger Adama Traore scored a similarly surprising own-goal during his Deportivo debut.

Fer Lopez earned an early lead for Wolves, before the hosts levelled through Jay Stansfield.

Ladislav Krejci then put Wolves ahead again in the 31st minute, before Tchatchoua’s mistake just five minutes later.

Blues owner Tom Wagner has been spotted in the stands for the first time in nine months.

He led the club’s American takeover alongside former NFL star Tom Brady in July 2023.

However, he had been absent from the stadium after suffering a stroke in February.

His side earned promotion back into the Championship two years ago, finishing tenth last season.

Meanwhile, Tchatchoua is in his second campaign with Wolverhampton after suffering relegation from the Premier League last season.
