A WOMAN has died after a car left the road and smashed into a brick wall in a horrific tragedy.
The 38-year-old was driving a red Nissan Juke when the crash happened late last night.
Emergency services scrambled to Allerton Road in Woolton, Merseyside, shortly after 11.30pm on Friday.
But despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her devastated family have been informed and are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.
Cops are now appealing for witnesses as they work to establish exactly what happened.

Sergeant Phil Everett, of Merseyside Police‘s Matrix Roads Policing department, said: “Our thoughts are with the family members of the woman who sadly died following the collision late last night and they are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.
“We are in the early stages of an investigation into this incident and it is now our priority to confirm exactly how the collision occurred.
“We know this happened late last night when many residents may have been inside their homes but if anyone saw what happened or were driving through the area just before the incident occurred then please get in touch.
“Similarly, if you live in the area and have doorbell footage of the incident, please contact us.

A police scene was in place on Allerton Road whilst forensic investigators carried out their examinations, but all roads are now reopened.
