DOUBLE killer and rapist Simon Levy has been deemed too ­dangerous to be dealt with by female prison staff.

The 41-year-old, who was handed a whole life sentence last month, cannot have contact with any women prison officers, psychologists or medics.

Levy — who is accused of stabbing and strangling a male warder while on remand in February — is regarded by staff at tough HMP Belmarsh as the most volatile inmate since Southport killer Axel Rudakubana.

A source said the one-eyed fiend, jailed for murdering two women and raping another last year, still gets privileges including a TV, DVDs, access to games and £20 a week for the canteen at the London jail.

They said: “Levy is evil and has a lot of alerts on the system. The main ones are he is known for attacking staff and is an extreme risk to women.

“That sounds obvious but his threat level is really high so females cannot interact with him.

“A lot of the new officers are women, as are most psychologists and medical staff, so it means he cannot have rehabilitation sessions.

“He is only let out of his cell on his own and it has to be burly male officers who escort him.

“Staff have not been this wary of a con since Axel Rudakubana was in Belmarsh.

“Levy is the most volatile inmate since him. He gives off the same vibe and has that same madness in his eyes.”

Triple child killer Rudakubana, 20, hurled boiling water at a Belmarsh guard and was sent to Broadmoor in July.

Levy, of Tottenham North London, has denied assault and strangulation charges after the male officer was stabbed repeatedly in the arm and neck and will now face crown court.

The Prison Service said that it did not comment on individual prisoners.
