An American airlines flight from Dallas, Texas to Newark, New Jersey was plunged into chaos – with shocking photos showing the aftermath.
At around 10:15pm a man exploded into an unhinged diatribe littered with racist and homophobic slurs at his seatmate beside him.
While spiralling into a hate-fuelled meltdown, the man even lashed out physically – allegedly striking his fellow flyer and smashing his laptop.
A woman tried to intervene in the mid-air tantrum on Thursday but was allegedly pushed back by the suspected fiend – prompting three men to jump in and help.
When a black flight attendant approached the individual – he shouted more racial slurs, according to reporting by TMZ.
Airline crew handed the three passengers duct tape and zipties – and the flyers then reportedly tied the man to his seat while he battled back.
The plane was even forced to divert to Baltimore to deal with the disruption.
Crew and passengers resorted to extreme measures to stop the alleged hate attacks – and emerged with several rolls of thick duct tape.
Shocking photos show the man strapped to his seat with multiple strips of tape criss-crossing over his face and chest.

His hands were also bound in the sticky adhesive, as well as being clamped together with two yellow zip ties.
Blood appears to be visible on his arm, thought it is unclear how he sustained the possible injuries.
American Airlines told NY Post that the flight was diverted to Baltimore “due to a disruptive customer”.
They added that when the plane landed “law enforcement met the aircraft and assisted with deplaning the customer before the flight continued to its destination.”
The man has been arrested and the FBI has said they are currently conducting interviews to determine if the man will face federal charges.
There have been more than 1,160 “unruly passenger incidents” so far in 2026, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
