Despite Liam’s new clean living, Noel has told how the £400million Oasis reunion tour was thrown into chaos when his brother turned up just 20 minutes before the first night.
Noel’s fears for the 2025 comeback after a near-16-year fallout — plus fresh tensions — are laid bare in film Don’t Look Back In Anger which had its Venice premiere last night.
In it Noel, 59, says his younger brother is now “delightful”. But he also says he was left fearing “how is this going to work?” after the late arrival of Liam.

The film shows Liam, 53, failed to even appear at the final rehearsal before the Cardiff opener — with Noel blasting: “The final run through the night before one of the biggest ever nights of our lives and he’s not rehearsed.”
Liam eventually swaggered on stage at the Principality Stadium and grabbed his brother’s hand in a show of unity, which became an iconic image.
Noel admitted the display of affection surprised him, saying: “He turns up 20 minutes before the gig and is, ‘What’s the catering like,’ and I’m like, ‘How is this going to work?’
“Then he grabs my hand and I’m like, ‘What the f***?’ and then he gets up and performs and it’s like he’s 30 years young. I’m like, ‘You absolutely f***ing mad c**t.’”

The film also tells how at the first rehearsal in a London studio, the brothers don’t even say hello with Noel simply asking, “Ready then?” before they start playing.
The pair have to stop themselves from rowing over a drumkit, with Liam walking out of the session without even saying goodbye.
Noel said: “He doesn’t talk. He just comes in and f***s off. I respect that. There’s a man who truly doesn’t give a f***.”
But it’s clear in the film — seen by The Sun on Sunday — that Liam missed his brother and regretted his actions over the years.
Some of the vicious insults he threw Noel’s way included calling him a “***head”, a “potato” and a “former brother”.
He even smashed a tambourine him over his head Liam admitted on film: “We all said s*** we didn’t mean. Half the s that was coming out of our mouths we didn’t mean. You know what I mean, you miss people.”
Liam reveals he changed his ways after the death of his Stone Roses pal Gary ‘Mani’ Mountfield aged 63 last year.
He says Mani’s death was “very sad”, adding: “This is why everything is so f***ing precious.

“The penny has dropped. No more bull***t anymore.”
Revealing no more cigarettes and alcohol, he added: “I’m not going to have one cigarette, one f***ing drink. It’s not going to happen.”
Liam says the reunion was too “f***ing precious” to ruin by partying.
The brothers’ relationship blew up in 2009 after a brawl ended in Liam wielding Noel’s favourite Gibson guitar like an axe, leading Noel to walk out on the band for good.
But the pair did not have a discussion about the band’s bitter break-up.
Instead, Noel said: “It was all forgiven without saying a word.”
The more time they spent in each other’s company the more they enjoyed being together.
Noel reveals in the documentary: “All the things that used to annoy us about each other. They are all gone. It’s not a power struggle anymore. We come in now as equals. It feels like a weight has been lifted.

“We never used to text each other about stupid s*** we saw on TV. Now we text stupid videos.
“We are in contact way, way, way more often than we ever were. I use this word to describe what he’s become, which I never, never, never thought I’d use — delightful.”
The reunion has also introduced Liam’s sons Lennon, 26, and Gene, 25, to Noel’s children Anaïs, 26, and Donovan, 18, and Sonny, 15.
Noel reveals that before the tour family relations were so strained that the cousins had never met — contrary to reports they had brought their parents back together again.
Noel says: “When my kids met his kids they didn’t know each other. Donovan and Sonny had never met Gene and Lennon. Lo and behold they’re best friends now.”
And thanks to the reunion, Liam says the boys are now tearing it up on the town like he and Noel did back in the 90s.
He says: “They’re off their heads every night. F***ing spangled.”
Noel adds: “I’ve been on tour with my boys for three or four months now. Donovan is in the big league now he’s 18. He got into the van and he got hammered.

“He was puking up into a plastic bag and singing Rock ‘N’ Roll star. I said to Liam, ‘That was us.’”
The film, which opens in cinemas on Wednesday before streaming on Disney+, makes it clear that fans helped healed the brothers’ wounds.
Noel says about the band: “I had forgotten what he means to people.”
He was surprised by the emotion from audience members at the sell-out run of 41 gigs. It was enough to make the normally tough nut Mancunian cry.
Noel confessed: “I’ve turned my back in the audience quite a lot doing this tour, you see like fathers and sons. That gets me all the time. It’s moving, seeing these people in tears and in return it’s moving you to tears.”

He said “It’s called Don’t Look Back in Anger for a reason. This is about right now, people reconciling.”
Today, The Sun revealed plans for 23 more Oasis UK gigs in 2027.
Beginning in May in Glasgow they will then head to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.
This will be followed by six nights at Knebworth in September.
Oasis will also play in Europe and a string of shows in Las Vegas.
But Liam has signalled the band could continue making music, hinting they’ve got what it takes to match The Rolling Stones.
