THIS is the horrifying moment an EastEnders legend is burnt to a crisp in Casualty’s explosive 40th anniversary episode.
The BBC medical drama celebrated four decades on our screens tonight with two dramatic episodes.

The episodes saw the emergency department team pushed to their limits in a tense and a major rescue operation after a huge explosion at a neighbouring hospital, St James’.
As the A&E department was inundated with casualties, Dylan Keogh was stopped in his tracks when he saw his former girlfriend Sophia Peters being brought in.
The medical colleagues became a couple in 2024 but it wasn’t plain sailing for them, and despite falling pregnant with their baby at one point, things ultimately didn’t work out between them.
Despite this, Dylan was desperate to save Sophia – who is played by Kellie Shirley – despite the severity of her burns, which covered her head, body and even her airways inside.

With the hospital overrun, the staff were forced to treat Sophia on the main floor.
At one point, Sophia managed to ask for Dylan and when he got close enough to her, she whispered: “I’m glad it’s you”.
Trying to contain his emotions, Dylan replied: “I’m going to be here when you wake up ok?”
But despite Dylan’s best efforts, Sophia passed away in tragic scenes, leaving him devastated and unable to cope.

As well as playing Sophia, Kellie is best known for portraying Carly Wicks from 2006 to 2012.
While the episodes featured sadness and loss, there were lighter moments too, including the return of Charlie Fairhead and Ethan Hardy.
