COPS have made five arrests after a man was found dead “lying in a house for days”.
The man, in his 50s, is thought to have died several days before his body was discovered, according to Northamptonshire Police.
Officers went to the home on High Street in Burton Latimer on Wednesday after receiving a “concern for welfare call.
Detectives launched a murder inquiry after a forensic post-mortem examination which was carried out at Leicester Royal Infirmary on Thursday.
The investigation is being led by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit.
Three men, aged 43, 48 and 54 have been arrested on suspicion of murder, while two people, a woman, aged 38 and a man aged 53, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Thompson, said: “This is a fast-paced investigation with three people now in custody on suspicion of murder.
“In recent days we’ve been speaking to local people and businesses and would still like to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the High Street area of Burton Latimer in the last week or may have captured anything suspicious on dashcam, CCTV or a doorbell camera.”f emergency.”
Cops have urged witnesses or anyone with information to contact Northamptonshire Police via their online portal or by calling on 101.
