“I’m currently in my house packing up my stuff, I’ve been staying at my mum and dad’s.

“Every day is up and down. I have 1,000 different emotions in one day.

“I’m sure a lot of you have experienced heart break before. I have never felt it quite like this, I think when you have been together for over five years, their family is your family, vice versa. So the untangling of that is extremely overwhelming.”

Fighting back the tears: “I can only explain the pain I am carrying, like a physical one. In my heart, in my chest. I’m sure Max is going through the same thing.

“It is like something else. Obviously now it’s time to come to terms with the new lives and things are going to be different and that’s okay.

“I can see more clearly now, a week and a half, two weeks on, that it is the right decision for both of us.

“We will both be able to excel and become the people we’re supposed to be, apart from one another and give each other space to do that. I think I am finally going to discover who I really am. What I love, and chase the things I want to chase.

“It’s going to be a time for discovery. It’s exciting. I am excited to share that with you guys when I am feeling up to it.”

Getting very emotional again, Andrew continued: “We shared a lot of our relationship with you, I am so grateful for all of you supporting us over the years, it’s such an honour to have been an example of what a gay relationship, a happy gay relationship can look like.

“I know that would have meant the most to me when I was younger growing up and I was in the closet.

“If that is one thing that we have done successfully then it makes me really happy. I am sorry to anyone that we have disappointed with this news.

“There’s still hope for love obviously. This is just life.

“I want to say thank you to Max’s family for being the most amazing, the most welcoming people.

“I had never been further than Nottingham when I met Max, so the fact they have made a home for me up north. I can’t thank them enough. They are incredible people.

“And obviously to Max, I wish him the best in everything. I respect him so much. He is so incredibly talented and I know he will continue to do amazing things.

“He’s already done amazing things and he will continue to do those things.”

He signed the video off by asking if fans could stop speculation and give them privacy.

Andrew captioned the post: “Thanks for listening and the biggest thank you to my amazing friends, family and you guys for all your kind words throughout this, it truly means the world.”

Many rushed to the comments section to share their support.

One said: “So sorry to hear the news and I hope you both feel better soon. Know that you don’t owe us any explanation, we are not people you know. Don’t feel like we need updates, all we want is for you to be okay. Hope you’re alright.”

Another added: “Sending you so much love darling.”

“Such grace and dignity when experiencing heartbreak is rare. You will be just fine with a kind soul like yours. Wishing you all the best for the next chapter,” a third chimed in.

A fourth commented: “Please don’t feel like you’ve disappointed anybody!! Heartbreak is the worst thing ever. Take your time and we’ll be here!!”

Earlier this week Max broke down in tears as he confirmed their split.

With tears in his eyes, the content creator started: “Hello everyone, I’m just making this video to let you know that sadly it is true that me and Andrew have broken up after five and a half years of being together.

“We broke up around two weeks ago and obviously it’s been a really sad and tough time.

“There’s been so much love between the two of us, between our family and friends over those years.

“When you’re with someone for that long, your life becomes so intrinsically bonded together and you can’t imagine not having them in your life to be honest with you. That’s kind of how it gets.

“So I’ve been struggling a lot. I am in Ibiza right now, I’ve been here for a week.

“But the narrative online that I’m just partying and don’t give one and he’s all sad, could not be further from the truth.”

Max explained that he had this holiday booked months ago and when the break-up happened, he decided to go to Ibiza with his friends instead of “sobbing alone in his room”.

He shared that he’s been looking after himself and going to the gym and has avoided going out and boozing much.

“I’ve just been spending time with lovely supportive friends who have just been a godsend,” he continued.

Max then addressed the reason behind the split and admitted it was him who decided to end it.

“I know everyone will want an explanation because we shared so much of our relationship with you lot,” he said.

“All I’ll say is I chose to end the relationship for personal reasons that I don’t really want to discuss on the internet and out of respect for Andrew.

“There is so much love there, it’s not hate. It’s just you can’t get everything you need from someone, you have to sometimes face reality and it’s sad and devastating.”

Max admitted he was “losing the plot” as he copes with the new adjustment.

“I’ve never had a break-up like this before, I’ve never experienced anything like this, I don’t know how to navigate it, all I know is I’ve spent a lot of time focusing and looking after a lot of people but now it’s time to focus and look after myself.

“As scary as this is, I’m excited for the future, even though I can’t feel that excitement right now.

“I just feel sad, scared, anxious and depressed.

“But I have a lot of exciting work stuff I want to delve into, time with my friends and family and value the time with myself. I’ve been around people for five and a half years non-stop, I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be by myself.

“That’s terrifying, I’m genuinely terrified.”

Max said he was going to focus on his career and himself going forward.

He added: “If it looks like I’m losing the plot, then it’s because I am, I f***ing am.

“I’m terrified to go home tomorrow but I have to face reality at some point.

“I’ve got to find out where I’m going to end up living, what’s going to happen to our dog.

He then hid his face and said: “I’m going to cry again.”
