COPS have arrested a man and a woman in their 30s after a man was found shot dead in a woodland area.
The man, who is yet to be identified, was found in Ecclesall Woods in Sheffield, just before 7pm on Wednesday by a member of the public.
South Yorkshire Police said a post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of a gunshot wound.
The force said a 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested in Manchester on Thursday on suspicion of murder.
The pair currently remain in police custody, said the force.
Cops revealed today that a post-mortem examination found the man had been shot.
He has not yet been formally identified and South Yorkshire Police continue to appeal for information.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles, who is the senior investigating officer for this case, said: “This is a devastating incident which has led to a man losing his life and our thoughts remain with all those who knew him.
“Our investigation into this incident is in its early stages and we are continuing to work relentlessly to piece together the events leading up to this man’s death.
