A MAN has been killed in a horror hit-and-run after being struck by a car near an Aldi supermarket.
The 68-year-old was walking when he was hit by a dark-coloured vehicle in Birmingham at around 8.45pm last night.
The driver then fled the scene, leaving the injured pedestrian behind.
The tragedy happened on Stratford Road in Hall Green, near Aldi and the junction with Wycome Road.
Despite desperate efforts by paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops have launched urgent enquiries to track down the car and identify the driver.

Detective Sergeant Julie Lyman, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts today are with the family of the man who died, and we’re supporting his family.
“It’s vital that we identify the car and driver involved as soon as possible.
“If you are that driver, I’d urge you to do the right thing and come and call us straight away.
“If anyone who was in the area has mobile phone, dash cam or other footage from the time, we’d also like to speak to them as soon as possible.”

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or captured footage to come forward.
