Even Sir Alex Ferguson and club icon Sir Bobby Charlton were forced to sit tight while Wazza had it out with his team-mates.
United stars got one over on Rooney by hiding his suit trousers and playing dumb over where they had gone.
The ex-England star responded by marching to the front of the plane and sticking it on the entire team.
Pointing to former team-mate Wes Brown on Stick to United, Rooney recalled: “I knew these would s*** themselves and give me them back.
“I had my pyjama bottoms on, a shirt, a tie and a blazer.

“The manager’s there, Bobby Charlton’s there. I’ve said, ‘Sorry boss, no one is getting off this plane until I get my bottoms back’. He didn’t know what to do.
“Eventually they s*** themselves and the pants started to get passed down. Otherwise they wouldn’t have.
“I wasn’t walking through the airport like that.”
