A PRISON nurse accused of striking up a romance with a convicted killer and drug dealer in a west London jail has appeared in court.
Stephanie Adair, 29, allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with lag Jahki Crosdale at scandal-hit HMP Wandsworth between October 2023 and November 2024.

Adair, of Southwark, South London, faces one count of misconduct in a public office.
The alleged fling supposedly began while Adair was caring for inmates and was reportedly exposed after Crosdale listed her address on his court documents.
The 28-year-old prisoner is charged with one count of encouraging the commission of an indictable only offence, relating to the alleged relationship.
Appearing at Wimbledon magistrates’ court yesterday dressed in a smart black suit and white t-shirt, Adair spoke only to confirm her name and address.

Her case was deferred to September 29 at Kingston crown court and the defendant was granted unconditional bail by a panel of magistrates.
A judge said: “This is a matter that can only be dealt with in the crown court.”
Dudley Beal represented Adair, with Oliver Mosley prosecuting.
Crosdale did not appear due to issues from the video link at HMP Manchester, where he is currently in custody.

An investigation into Adair’s conduct was opened in November, leading to her being temporarily banned from working in prisons by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
But she is still listed as a practice nurse at the Trevelyan House GP surgery in Tooting, south west London.
It is understood she has worked continuously since her arrest.
Crosdale is understood to have been jailed for six years in 2016 after fatally knifing trainee plumber Charlie Burns, 19, in Hackney, east London, in 2014.

He was convicted of one count of manslaughter following a three-week trial at the Old Bailey.
Crosdale had knifed him four times in the chest and back after he demanded payment of a £150 cannabis debt.
He was jailed again in 2019 for one year after being caught with heroin and crack cocaine worth £2,000.
HMP Wandsworth has been called Britain’s “worst jail”, coming under scrutiny after a video of screw Linda De Sousa Abreu romping with inmate Linton Weirich went viral.
OnlyFans content creator Abreu was jailed in January for 15 months after pleading guilty to misconduct in public office.
At the time, the governor of Wandsworth said Abreu’s actions had taken “less than a day” to undo the many years of work on behalf of female staff in all-male prisons – but in April, this latest scandal emerged.
Middle-class Adair’s parents, who work as teachers, accompanied her to court yesterday.
They previously expressed their shock at their daughter’s arrest when approached by the MailOnline.
Her father, David, said: “Obviously we are very upset about the allegations against Stephanie, but we can’t talk about the case.
“It’s very frustrating. We can’t say about anything about the case. And Stephanie can’t speak to anyone about it at the moment.
“We are very polite, decent people. We are both teachers. We have been unable to talk to our friends about it. We can’t speak to anybody about it.”
It comes after a huge jump in cases of prison workers being caught in romantic relationships with inmates.
In January, Alicia Novas, 20, was jailed for becoming involved with Declan Winkless at HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough.

And in May, prison tutor Kelly Duffey, 36, from Amesbury, Wiltshire, was handed a sentence after striking up an inappropriate relationship with a prisoner at HMP Erlestoke.
As a result, prison officers are being offered increased training to help them avoid being manipulated into illicit relationships by experienced criminals.
