HELEN Mirren has revealed why she decided to defend her MobLand co-star Tom Hardy after his set behaviour had him axed and re-hired for the show.
Back in May, it was said that the hunky actor had been fired from the series following a clash with show producers while filming season two, but then patched things up later in the year and re-joined the show to film it’s third season.
Following the revelation that Tom had been axed over on-set tensions, Helen appeared to defend him – posting a picture of Tom to Instagram and saying “love you now and always”.
Now, she has spoken out on why she defended her co-star – despite assuring she “separates” herself from drama.
“You do learn certain things as you get older. About how to work with people, really.” she said of her attitude to her fellow actors during an interview with Radio Times.
“What you learn is every single person is different; every single person has their own way of doing things. There’s not one way, there’s a million different ways,” further explained Helen.

Helen and Tom are returning for MobLand’s third season alongside stars such as Piers Brosnan.
Tom’s alleged friction with show bosses was said to be patched up during a meeting in London between him, showrunner Jez Butterworth and series executive producer David Glasser, Deadline reported earlier this summer.
They reported that the meeting saw the trio come to an ‘understanding’ about a path forwards, with producer Guy Ritchie also involved in the negotiations.
