But one German side ensured it was a literal rollercoaster ride before taking on Bayern Munich.

Minnows Osnabruck created quite probably the greatest tifo of all time ahead of facing the Bundesliga champions.
Because it even featured a working, operational rollercoaster in the stand.
VfL Osnabruck took on the biggest club in the country in the DFB-Pokal first round on Wednesday night.
They welcomed Vincent Kompany’s superstars to their 15,700-capacity Stadion an der Bremer Brucke.

And the second-division hosts certainly made it a memorable night under the lights thanks to their incredible pre-match display.
Supporters erected an elaborate structure detailing the framework of the ride.
There was even various signs that read “sound on… heavy smokers”, “opening of the Bremer Brucke” and “buy the ticket, take the ride” among others.
But then came the show-stopping element.

Through a gap in the tifo, a cart emerged and starting moving along the track.
And it got even more exciting when it dropped down the ramp of the track then disappeared into a tunnel before emerging again and heaving its way up – before a second train started its journey back at the start.
This all happened just as the players walked out on to the field.
And it seemed to work a treat for Osnabruck as they took a shock lead against a Bayern side with Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Joshua Kimmich all in the starting XI.

Robin Meissner put the hosts in front after just five minutes with a stunning volley from distance.
However, Bayern came roaring back to win 4-1 thanks to a double from Kane, one from Tom Bischof and another from Olise.
