So it seems to follow that many celebs, from Katie Price to Cheryl Tweedy, opt to ‘upgrade’ their gnashers for bold, white veneers – but it can come at a unnerving cost.

Many famous faces have revealed how they’ve had their natural teeth shaved down by a whopping 60 to 70 percent in order to have porcelain veneers fitted on top.
And from being left with ‘brown teeth’ underneath and with whopping dental bills, the celebs have shared the stark reality behind the procedure.
According to Revitalise Dental Centre, they are expected to last between 10 to 15 years, but don’t come cheap.
A full set of veneers will set you back around £10,000 in the UK, leading many stars to jet off for cut-price Turkey-teeth which can cost as little as £3,000.
However, while there has been an influx of celebrities jumping on the bandwagon, others, like Zendaya and Aimee Lou Wood, have been recently praised for keeping their natural smiles.
One fan commented about the Zendaya’s teeth on social media, saying: “Finally, someone showing that you don’t need a fake, blinding white smile to look absolutely breathtaking. Pure aura.”
But keeping natural teeth isn’t a top priority for everyone.
Here, we look at the stars who have taken the plunge and had veneers in the quest for a pearly-white smile…
Katie Price

Former glamour model Katie Price, 48, is famous for documenting every single detail of her ongoing cosmetic journeys, including multiple trips to Turkey for full smile makeovers.
These started in the mid-2000s, and in 2015 she revealed she had spent over £95,000 on her teeth to date.
However, with two subsequent trips to Turkey that we know of, that figure has soared even higher.
Katie previously responded to complaints about her gnashers being “too big for her mouth”.
She said in a video on Instagram: “Everyone says my teeth look too big for me. The best thing is I’m happy, and that’s all that matters.”
Jack Fincham

Love Island’s 2018 winner Jack Fincham quickly became one of the most prominent poster boys for the “Turkey Teeth” movement when he got his veneers fitted prior to his reality TV victory.
It is estimated Jack, 35, spent roughly £3,000 to £5,000 on a uniform, ultra-bright set of porcelain crowns.
In his Love Island VT, he said: “I absolutely love my pearly whites. I went all the way to Turkey to get these. I came back with a winning smile and a nice little holiday.”
His vibrant new look drew immediate attention from fans, with some comparing him to Ross Geller from Friends when he leaves his teeth-whitening solution on for too long.
Recently, he revealed his shaved-down stubs as he got them redone nearly a decade after his first set.
Writing across the picture, he said: “We’re back again nearly 10 years on. Original trendsetter.”
Dane Bowers

Last year, Dane Bowers, 46, showed off his brand new Turkey teeth as he underwent a radical image overhaul.
In one vid, the Another Level star and DJ bared his bloody gums and revealed that he had his teeth filed down to the stumps in order to fit his new veneers.
Not for the faint-hearted, Dane said at the time: “I can’t talk…. I look like a baddie in a Marvel movie.”
However, he was pleased with the finished result, and said: “There’s the gnashers, liking them, liking the color, they’re not too white. They actually look white there, but they’re not in real life.”
Stacey Solomon

Television presenter Stacey Solomon, 36, got a full set of veneers around 2020 after pregnancy and fluorosis destroyed her natural enamel.
The mum-of-five candidly revealed on Loose Women that her teeth essentially turned black and fell out, making it impossible to eat comfortably or smile without feeling self-conscious.
Speaking on the show, she admitted: “It’s my biggest fear, my teeth falling out, because it may come as a shock to you, but these are not real! Pregnancy totally ruined my teeth.”
Despite forking out for the treatment, Stacey admitted she had regrets about needing veneers, urging people to avoid getting them in a Fabulous column.
She wrote: “I have veneers and my real teeth underneath are like brown pegs. So no amount of brushing, flossing, and Instagram-pushed products will make your teeth the same colour as mine.
“The truth is, though, I would never have opted for veneers. I loved my old teeth and am not a fan of changing myself in any way, so I have to say to anyone considering shaving down their teeth to place new ones over the top: DON’T DO IT!”

Former Love Island star Amy Hart, 34, got her very first set of 20 veneers in 2010 when she was just 17.
She spent £13,000 to improve her smile – with each tooth costing around £650 – as part of a pre-Love Island glow-up that totalled £20,000.
However, after enduring relentless trolling during her time on the reality show, she made the decision to completely replace her smile in 2020 at age 28.
Her updated London procedure cost roughly £13,000 and was designed to give her a wider arch and more natural shade.
Former air hostess Amy, who is now married with two kids, specifically noted her fear of an artificial look, stating: “I wanted to still keep the character; I didn’t want to look like I have a bright white mouth guard, and I wanted to widen my smile out.”
Rylan Clark

Popular host Rylan Clark, 37, made his oversized, blindingly white veneers a central part of his public identity when he first got them fitted in 2013 right as he launched his presenting career.
In 2016, he joked: “My biggest mistake was my teeth but, to be fair, they’ve earned me a lot of money.”
His original set cost around £25,000 in London’s Harley Street district and famously became a major talking point that helped him stand out on screen.
After eight years, Rylan decided in 2021 at age 33 to spend another £10,000 to £15,000 replacing them with a more natural, scaled-down set.
Humorously reflecting on how his teeth launched his career, he joked: “I got my veneers finished the day before I started hosting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, my first presenting job. That was the first night everyone saw them, and all people did was take the p*** out of my teeth.
“So no one realised I was a s*** presenter, and by the time they stopped talking about my teeth a few months later, I’d got better at the job.”
When he finally removed them, he tweeted: “I’ve taken the decision to say goodbye… to my teeth. New smile imminent.”
Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham underwent a complete dental transformation around 1999 during her transition from pop life to high fashion.
During her early years as Posh Spice in the Spice Girls, she had slightly uneven natural teeth with a small gap before investing in high-end porcelain veneers.
Following this, she has had her pearly whites regularly lasered.
She later had another procedure in LA costing £30,000 that didn’t quite go according to plan, leaving poor Posh with swollen gums and an unfortunate speech impediment.
A friend told the Sun on Sunday: “Victoria jetted to LA to visit one of the best dentists in town to get all her teeth sorted in one fell swoop.
“Veneers were replaced and her gums given a good going-over, but afterwards she could barely speak – she had developed a very pronounced lisp, and David and the kids were really taking the mick.
“Victoria was absolutely seething and couldn’t record any unedited YouTube or Instagram videos – she was feeling incredibly self-conscious.”

Music mogul Simon Cowell, 66, played a major role in bringing the Hollywood smile into mainstream British TV when he first got porcelain veneers around 2004.
Dentist Sally Rayment from multi-award-winning The Implant Centre previously told MailOnline that she suspects the X Factor mogul may have had several sets of veneers over the years, costing anywhere from £650 to £1,000 per tooth.
With veneers only lasting seven to 10 years on average, Sally estimates that he could have spent upwards of £50,000 on his teeth depending on how many sets he’s had.
Simon was transparent about replacing them with an updated ‘natural’ set in 2020, posing alongside Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist Dr Apa to debut his new set of pearlies.
Chloe Ferry

Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry, 30, has built a massive social media following who have tracked her extensive physical transformations.
In 2018, the star revealed that she had spent upwards on £50,000 on cosmetic surgery — changing up her breasts, cheeks, lips, chin, nose, and eyebrows, among others — with her new smile setting her back £28,000.
Earlier this year, she told fans how she flew to Europe for a new set of Turkey Teeth.
She shared: “You’re probably thinking, why are you getting your teeth done? Because you already have them done. I’ve had mine done for 10 years now and really fancy the change now.”
Speaking of her clinic, she shared: “They also have the same quality as the USA, UK, and Europe, but yet it is 70 per cent more affordable.
“Anyone who knows me knows I love a good bargain and I love Turkey Teeth. Honestly, I am obsessed. Put your sunglasses on because these teeth are blinding, baby.
“I just feel like your smile is so important.
“Like, when I was in school, I used to have really bad teeth and I used to be so self-conscious, and now I just feel so much more confident.”

Early in her career with Girls Aloud, Cheryl Tweedy possessed natural, slightly pointed canine teeth.
In the years that followed, the Daily Mail claimed that Cheryl was spending “£8,000 a year on her teeth and £1,500 on whitening every year”.
She spoke to the publication about using an Invisalign brace which she wore every night as part of her quest for the perfect smile.
Although she has not confirmed having porcelain veneers herself, several dental experts claim she upgraded her smile with veneers right as she joined The X Factor.
