DISGRUNTLED Manchester United fans have called for Jason Wilcox to RESIGN after the club’s underwhelming transfer window.
The Red Devils revamped their midfield by bringing in Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba for a combined £149million.
However, issues in defence and attack, including the need for a new striker and a very pressing need for a new left-back, failed to be addressed by club transfer chiefs.
Fans were left disappointed with this reality in a window where many felt more was needed to cope with the rigours of also playing Champions League football.
SunSport’s Man Utd correspondent Samuel Luckhurst rated the window as a 6/10, arguing this season “could be a season of consolidation” in maintaining a place in the top four, rather than a title challenge.
But Man Utd technical director Jason Wilcox has born the brunt for much of the criticism online.

Meanwhile, sensational reports have also claimed the club’s director of recruitment Christopher Vivell could also be on his way out.
Such a suggestion sparked an increase in ire from sections of the fanbase, with one saying: “We’re all wearing this same face after seeing this transfer market. #Berradaout. #WilcoxOut.”
A second said: “I don’t care what happens anymore. This clown (Wilcox) needs to be sacked. NOW!!!”
A third added: “Vivell will 100 per cent leave. He can’t work with the absolute clowns he is surrounded by. Why is it never the dummies that leave?!”

Bayern Munich were linked with Vivell last month as they seek a replacement for chief scout Nils Schmadtke, who could be on his way out of the Bavarian club.
Though Bayern chief Max Eberl played down those rumours, at least for the time being, as he said: “Nils has one year left on his contract, just like I do.
“We shouldn’t be defaming people. That’s a touch too much for me right now.”
Vivell, 39, joined Man Utd in 2024 – the same year as Wilcox – having previously been the technical director at Chelsea between 2022 and 2023.
The German was also the technical director at RB Leipzig between 2020 and 2022, and was a scout for the Bundesliga side for five years before that, having started scouting at Hoffenheim in 2010.
Man Utd beat Ipswich 5-2 at Old Trafford last weekend but lost away to Hull in their opening game of the season.
They visit Everton next before hosting Azerbaijani side, Sabah, in the Champions League, followed by the Manchester City, also at home.
