KATIE TAYLOR bids farewell to boxing this weekend when she fights Flora Pili for the undisputed crown of the super-lightweight division.
The Irish superwoman will step into the ring in front of 80,000 fans at Croke Park for her final dance – something she has dreamed of her entire career.
It is the first time the Dublin stadium, which is primarily used for GAA sporting events, will have hosted a boxing match since Muhammad Ali fought Alvin ‘Blue’ Lewis in 1972.
Much to the delight of the rapturous support, Ali beat the Detroit heavyweight that night, something which The Bray Bomber is hoping to emulate this weekend.
Taylor will have to get past the undefeated Frenchwoman, though, who is looking to upset the home favourite on the biggest night of her career.
