ENZO FERNANDEZ has risked further angering Chelsea fans after comments he made immediately following his transfer to Manchester City.
The midfielder completed a deadline day transfer from Stamford Bridge to the Etihad worth a British transfer record £125million.
Fernandez had wanted out of the club since March, and had revealed he had not “been in a good place” as he penned an emotional 380-word statement on his Blues exit.
However, having followed Enzo Maresca from London to Manchester, he has also followed the Italian manager by refusing to name Chelsea while speaking about the club.
In his announcement for City, he spoke about his relationship with Maresca during their time together at Chelsea, but referred to them as my “previous club”.
He said: “He (Maresca) is a top manager, honestly. I had him at my previous club. They were incredible moments. I learned so much with him.

He’s very similar to Latin people, very passionate. So, for me, it’s a pleasure to work with him.
“I’m also grateful because he was very important in bringing me here. So it’s a huge pleasure for me to work alongside him and enjoy it.
“To be honest, we were both very eager for it to happen, because it wasn’t easy for me to be here today.
“But I know he also made a big effort, speaking to the club, and I’m grateful that he did that.

A second said: “You will get thrashed by your previous club my boy.”
A third added: “Cant f***ing wait for their return at the Bridge, a HOSTILE atmosphere is a MUST and we must win against them.”

Maresca had previously spoken about the proudest moments of his career so far, naming the Championship title won with Leicester and Conference League and Club World Cup he won with a “different club”.
All eyes will be squarely fixed on the calendar to see when Maresca and Fernandez lock horns with Chelsea again.
The first of those games this season will be at the Etihad on the weekend of December 12, with the reverse leg at Stamford Bridge coming on the weekend of April 24.
