The Hobbit and Fast & Furious actor on the joy of strawberry laces, hating that he’s so hard on himself, and his sneaky way of leaving a meeting

Born in south Wales, Luke Evans, 47, left school at 16 and trained at London Studio Centre before appearing in various West End shows. His films include Clash of the Titans, the Fast & Furious franchise, The Hobbit trilogy and Beauty and the Beast. He has released two albums and a memoir, was Tony-nominated for his role in The Rocky Horror Show on Broadway, and stars in The Party, an ITV adaptation of Elizabeth Day’s novel. He lives in Lisbon with his partner.
